What does "letters of christ" mean?

The apostle John wrote, "Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth... Then He who sat on the throne said, 'Behold, I make all things new.' And He said to me, 'Write, for these words are true and faithful.'" (Revelation 21:1-5)

God's master plan to "make all things new" is not only a future reality. It began nearly 2,000 years ago after Jesus Christ returned to heaven and sent the Holy Spirit to
take His place on earth (John 16:7). In the future we will have new bodies, but here and now God creates new life inside us by His Spirit. The "inner man" of everyone who trusts in Jesus Christ's payment for their sins is resurrected to new life, just like He was resurrected! (Ephesians 2:1, 3:16)

The apostle Paul wrote to the Corinthians, "You are letters of Christ, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone, but on tablets of human hearts..." (2 Corinthians 3:3). When the Spirit of God creates new life in us, the open book of our life is a "letter of Christ."
