The Central Theme of Grace In The Bible:

Ephesians 2:8-9 -- "For by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast." The next verse states, "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them." Prepared beforehand - the King of heaven has a specific plan for your life! When He becomes your King, He will lead you to do "good works" as part of His eternal plan. We enter this relationship by His grace and we remain in it by His grace. "Good works" are simply the byproduct of this relationship. Good works are not the basis or cause of this relationship. They are the fruit of being connected to the true Vine of Jesus Christ. Lack of fruit is evidence of not being connected to the true Vine. (John 13:5-6)
