How
Bible Prophecy Proves The Portrait of Christ In The Bible Is True

Israel And The Prophetic Books of
the Bible:
The DaVinci Code's claim about the Bible is proven false by the
prophetic sign God built into the very fabric of history - rather
than the canvas of a painting! The message from God isn't merely
a dictation recorded by one person. His process of communicating
to us is dynamic and creative. His message is contained in 66 different
books written by 40 authors over 1,500 years, all bound together
in one volume that is referred to as the Bible. Approximately 4,000
years ago, before the first book was even written, God established
a nation that He named Israel (Genesis 35:10-12). He called His
relationship with Israel "a memorial to all generations"
(Exodus 3:15). The first 17 of the 66 books of the Bible are history
books that cover the period from Israel's birth to Israel's destruction
in 586 B.C.. The prophetic books of the Bible foretold many aspects
of Israel's history, including Israel's rebirth in 1948. There are
over 2,000 prophecies contained in the Bible, all of which serve
to assure us that the message of the Bible originates from God who
alone is able to reveal the future with 100% accuracy. "Remember
the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other; I
am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning,
and from ancient times things that are not yet done..." (Isaiah
46:9-10).
The hour hand on the prophetic clock
is the nation of Israel:
After Israel was conquered in 586 B.C. and the people of Israel
(the Jews) were scattered around the world, God revealed to the
prophet Ezekiel that Israel's days were not over, that He would
gather Israel out of the nations where they were scattered and bring
them back to their homeland as a nation once again: "Therefore
say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord GOD: "... I
will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries,
and bring you into your own land"'" (Ezekiel 36:22-24).
"Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations,
wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and
bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation
in the land..." (Ezekiel 34:12). See also: Zechariah 7:14;
Jeremiah 16:14-15; Jeremiah 23:7-8; Jeremiah 33:7; Ezekiel 34:12,
Ezekiel 36:34-35. In 960 B.C., when King Solomon completed the first
temple in Jerusalem, Israel was a dominant world power. In 586 B.C.
the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem and took captive the last king
of Israel. For the next 2,535 years the people of Israel survived
while scattered around the world amid unparalleled persecution.
During the Holocaust over 6 million Jews were killed - 2 out of
every 3 living in Europe. Many who survived were impoverished and
nearly starved to death. By the end of World War II, the fulfillment
of God's promise to reestablish Israel as a nation in their homeland
seemed more unlikely than ever; yet the prophetic clock was ticking,
and the minute hand would soon strike twelve. In 1947, UN resolution
#1981 partitioned Palestine, giving 18% to the Jews and making Jerusalem
an "international city" never to be under Jewish control.
Six months later, on May 14, 1948, Israel declared independence
and made Jerusalem it's capitol. They were immediately attacked
on all sides by six Arab nations. The Arab League Secretary, General
Azzam Pasha declared "jihad" and said, "This will
be a war of extermination and a momentous massacre..." The
Jews faced this just three years after the Holocaust! In spite of
being outnumbered many times over and fighting with inferior weaponry,
Israel was victorious and regained the sovereignty it lost in 586
B.C., thus continuing it's role as God's "memorial to all generations"
(Exodus 3:15). The nation of Israel is a phenomena that is unprecedented
in world history and provides indisputable evidence that Bible prophecy
is reliable. |
